HaysHill Shepherds is located in Upper Montgomery County, Maryland near the base of Sugarloaf Mountain. We are convenient to Baltimore and the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area.
We are dedicated to the breed and have been involved with showing, breeding and loving our German Shepherds for over 25 years.
We enjoy a great relationship with veterinarians and the extended families we have placed companions with over the years, as well as a good reputation in the show “world.”
Our priority is to breed responsibly and to place the right companion with the right homes.
Health is of the utmost importance to our program – we use every avenue available to breed healthy and intelligent shepherds that have good sound temperaments.
Breeding for a “show dog” is NOT the most important issue and we do not have puppies available all the time. Selling puppies is NOT the reason we breed. We are always seeking to improve our lines and the breed.
Our breed has unfortunately been deemed a breed with “problems”. One of which is hip dysplasia – but with the efforts of responsible breeders and the German Shepherd Dog Club of America, we have come along way. Most dedicated breeders will make sure that they receive an OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) certificate for the male and female before breeding their shepherds. As is the case with our program, any dog that is bred through HaysHill Shepherds must be OFA certified.
We strive to breed the healthiest, soundest and most correct German Shepherds that we possibly can.
We take great pride in having bred 8 (eight) Champions including the 2000 German Shepherd National Best Puppy and the 2006 German Shepherd Canadian Grand Victrix!
